I'm down to the count. As of the day I write this, i have a month and 20 days left on my Subscription.
Now, I propose a trade to the world which dare watch me:
As I am poor and incapable of affording to buy the subscription, which if i'm not mistaken is much more expensive then last year.... I propose a trade of sorts.
I'm thinking one of afew ideas in exchange for a year subscription:
1) 4 ATC sized cards (3.5"x2.5" on 140 lb paper) of your choice of character (one character per card, reference would be highly appreciated, almost necessary. nothing says better picture then "visual reference") Water coloured. Original copies sent to commissioner
2) 5 ATC sized cards, once character per card, Water Colour, I keep the Originals
3) 3 ATC sized cards, upto Two characters per card, Water colour, Commissioner get the originals
4) Mix and match your own package! (I'm pretty flexible and up for negotiations and open to ideas) I'm also open to sacrificing Colour for more elaboration or Cards. (though seriously i don't think its worth it... Colour adds so much more to a piece...)
I like the ATC sized because I can actually commit to a piece and get it done. I'm open to other sized pieces, but nothing much larger then 5"X7" as no one wants a commissioner not wanting to do a piece. That, and i can also have the flexibility to do my best. If i screw up on a ATC, I'm going to be a lot more prone to restarting and giving a better product then i would be with a larger piece.
But then again, I really want a subscription so, again, I'm open to ideas and offers.
So...um... yes. this would be a big help to me and as I can't do commissions often, if ever, could that count as... i don't know... making this even more special?
lets hope...
Note me if Interested!
~Kelly

I'm thinking you might want to consider upping the offer a bit. The cards are small lets remember, an offer that is visibly worth 30+ dollars to all parties, not just you and you basing it on your efforts, may be a better offer.
As it is I can't think of what this might look like, but you're the artist in question, not I. Maybe get a guarantee from someone that they will sponsor your subscription and then let that person choose openly their package, that seems fair. They should at least get to choose what's on it...

And ou-ch. o_o Digital Art community first!? wow... i'm...kinda shocked and appalled. first off that anyone would think like that, second off that you would.
if by digital you mean everything thats posted needs to posted in digital format so the world can see, then, yes. but what you've said implys digital art comes first; which is shocking, and wrong.

Yes Kelly. Your blessed and sacred traditional art sucks, it's horrendous and disgusting and pathetic and...uh, need another word... putrid! And BAD! and just plain ole nasty, Yes THAT'S what I'm saying.
Come on, why would I say that? Art is art, no matter the format. But I'm saying consider your audience, (and I'm not saying you haven't at all) even to a purely traditional artist, you're offering them an original yes, but it's like 2 inches... it's teeny, Cards are meant to be in collections, they don't necessarily function as well as just any art peice on their own, mostly due to their size. Scanned, they can be any size. Great resolution, you can make it into a wallpaper, it's big and bright... I think maybe the cards get a different life when they're scanned. Not better per se, not worse, just different. Digital art (and digital copies of art) are very versatile. So unless your audience collects trading cards, I dunno, it may make a nice book mark. (not that it has to have a purpose either... but i loose cards... their small)
NOW, having said that. They would be worth more as a peice and more in terms of the exchange you're talking about, perhaps if you gave them a set. A set is something else, because to have the originals is to have the collection! Right? You could do your fox brothers, or give them a theme, like a halloween costume theme for each and each set would have 8 (there's 8 brothers right?) pieces. But each set would be unique. THEN, I could see this working because you're offering a complete set of works that begins and ends, plus its a lot of effort and design work on your part, so you'll feel you earned it, and your commissioner (gordon) will have something neat.
Good idea?
